2026 FACULTY TEACHING AND LEARNING CONFERENCE
BRIDGING MINDS AND PRACTICE : INTENTIONAL TEACHING TO SHAPE CONFIDENT CLINICIANS
Transforming the Nursing Landscape
Overview
This year's theme, Bridging Minds and Practice – Intentional Teaching to Shape Confident Clinicians, underscores the critical importance of deliberate program design and instructional strategies in fostering clinical judgment, decision-making, and client-centered care in nursing education. Recognizing the vital role we play in shaping the future of healthcare, especially through our partnerships with residency programs and postgraduate practices that reinforce ongoing clinical judgment, we aim to explore how intentional teaching can effectively bridge the gap between theory and practice.
During this conference, we will highlight innovative strategies, best practices, and evidence-based approaches that can be integrated into program design and instruction to empower students and novice nurses to think critically, make sound clinical decisions, and deliver compassionate, client centered care. Topics will include curriculum development, teaching methodologies, assessment techniques, and the integration of technology—all aimed at enhancing learning outcomes and translating knowledge into confident clinical practice.
By intentionally designing educational experiences that emphasize critical thinking and practical
application, we can contribute to transforming healthcare and ensuring the delivery of high quality compassionate care. We invite you to submit proposals for presentations, workshops, and panel discussions that align with the conference theme. Share your experiences, insights, and innovative approaches that have successfully promoted clinical judgment, critical thinking, and client-centered care. Together, let us inspire and empower each other to create meaningful change in our teaching practices and ultimately shape confident, proficient clinicians.
By the end of the conference, the learner can expect to:
Participants will be able to identify and apply evidence-based teaching strategies that foster clinical judgment.
Participants will evaluate and design intentional learning activities that enhance students’ transition from theoretical knowledge to clinical practice.
Participants will demonstrate the ability to critically reflect on and adapt their teaching practices to better prepare learners for practice in their clinical role.
